Costs

There are a few costs associated with joining Pack 867. The following is a breakdown of the  fees and what they cover:

1. Scouting America Membership — $169.95/year.
   — Paid when you sign up.
   — Covers: National registration, insurance, and program support.
   — Includes: $85 to national organization for membership fees; $80 for a participation fee that stays with our local National Capital Area Council; $4.95 for transaction fees.
   * There is financial aid available for these fees. Click the Financial Support Request Form if interested.
2. Pack 867 Dues — $200/year.
   — Paid directly to the pack. Payment can be made yearly, in two installments, or monthly.
   — Covers: A wide array of engaging activities, essential supplies, and memorable experiences, including campouts, special events and other outings, materials for den meetings and pack meetings, and individual scout awards.
   — Payment can be coordinated directly with our Pack Treasurer at cubscoutpack867treasurer@gmail.com.
   * Pack dues are 100 percent dedicated to directly benefiting your scout and enhancing the vibrant local programs and activities within our own pack.
3. Uniform (required) and Handbook (optional) — Approximately $60-$80.
   — One-time purchase, as uniforms are adjustable by size.
   — Available through the Scout Store Online or at the Northern Virginia Scout Shop, 5232 Port Royal Road, Ravensworth, VA 22151.
